Aberdeen weekend away , 25/09/26 - 28/09/26

Started on 11.15 TPE to Edinburgh then 13.28 dud 170 up to Aberdeen where i checked in hotel and that was me done for the day. 

I didn't really fancy this trip to be honest.  Health has been horrible last few weeks,  motivation and self esteem very low. Thankfully no rushing about for train connections this time, so i can just relax more and take my time. 

Saturday 26th 

After some early shopping,  i went up to mcds for breakfast.  Then to the bus station for the X60 up to Peterhead. Cheapest fare wss a £21.30 explorer ticket. AI said it was only £4 and takes about 30 minutes.  useless twat! 

Arrived in Peterhead after an arse knacking 1hr 15 minutes bus ride. Then straight to spoons 288 ,  cross Keys 

For a well required pint ! 

Peterhead  1 v elgin city 0  , balmoor Stadium,  ground 532 

I resisted the urge to have a pint in clubhouse,  mainly due to the long bus journey ahead and dwindling finance!

Nice stand for the blue toon ultras !

Peterhead started brightly but elgin grew into it and scored just after 20 mins which turned out to be the winner! 

Thankfully a decent bus for slog back to Aberdeen 

I decided to tick 1 of the aberdeen spoons,  289 Archibald Simpson 

Back to the hotel after a swift half and done for the day 

Sunday 27th 

I'd planned on footy , but as finances were running low, I opted for some required shopping and tick off the other aberdeen spoons 290 justice mill 

Monday 28th 

Hopefully a farce free journey home!  A nice relaxing weekend away,  got Peterhead spoons and footy ground done , which is the main thing. Also ticked both aberdeen spoons.  Hopefully I'll get away again soon ,  unsure where yet though! 

As Reef sang ' been down but I've come back brighter '!  

Sunday league grounds watching Southwick fc and other Sunday league footy

The bridge 2 v Southwick fc 3 - Jack Clark Park - ground 525 -  01/03/26

Another required Sunderland sunday league ground ticked off! 

Bridge took and early lead but Southwick levelled straight away, then led 3-1 at HT. Bridge scored late on but Southwick held on to progress to the next round. 

Southwick fc 6 v Monkton villa fc 3 - Wearmouth Colliery Welfare  - Ground 529 - 16/08/25 

I finally made it to my local sunday league ground whom I've decided to follow, a good mate i used to work with also gets to games when she can.  I actually used to live opposite this ground , sometimes watched games from the sitting room window ! 

After a short bus ride to Southwick and some required shopping,  i walked up to ground 

2 well taken headers halfway through the 1st half set Southwick on the way to lead 4-0 at HT 

Goals galore followed the 2nd half.  I walked home via an easy short cut. 

Winlaton vulcan inn 0 v the dolphin 7 - Axwell view playing fields - ground 531 - 23/08/26 

Did merro from sol to central station then train to Blaydon, where shopping was required in home bargains and morrisons then bus up the bank to the ground 

This was a Durham County sunday league cup game.  The Sunderland lads were 2-0 up at HT then walloped the home team 7-0 to easily progress to the next round 

This is also a northern alliance ground, so that's another of them ticked off  ! 

4 in 8 north east rover - 15/08/25 - 22/08/25

After a farcical start , things simmered down in donny around 10.30 , after a quick shop in Sainsbury's,  did winner azuma to Wakefield,  for a dud 150 to kirkgate 

Then a winner 195 to Barnsley 

Where I ticked spoons 284 - joesph bramah 

Then winner 195 to Retford 

Made the walk to the ground 

Retford fc 2 v euxton villa 2 , Retford won 6-5 on penalties - the rail - 15/08/25 - ground 528 

After a goalless 1st half,  the goals flowed in 2nd half!! 

After the match,  a visit to the offy next to the station was required for some cold ones for the journey home . Had a winner azuma Retford to york 

And another winer azuma from york to central station! 
18/08/25 - day. 2 of rover 

After doing the 9.40 XC to leeds and pondering a few other moves. I decided on 91 106 to donny 

Where I had an hour or so to kill.  Got some shopping in Sainsbury's then mcds for dinner then back to the station for a winner azuma to york. Where i did a winner 195 to leeds 

Where a medicinal vodka was required in station spoons before winner 195 to york 

Then a winner azuma to donny 

For my final required 800 2xx azuma to york 

Then home bound after another canny day out ! 

21/08/25 - day 3 of rover 

Decided to head to leeds to get 2 of my last 3 west Yorkshire spoons.  Did the 11.17 to Morley

Where I ticked spoons 285 , picture house 

It was a dreadful uphill struggle feom station,  thankfully all downhill back down to station  then train to batley 

Where I ticked spoons 286  - union rooms

Then train to Leeds 

For a wimmer 195 to Wakefield kirkgate 

For a winner 150 back to leeds 

for a winner 195 to york

For 91 110 back up north 

Then the 18.05 to sunnyland, off which i took a pic of 110

22/08/26 - day 4 of rover 

After a farce free journey to donny,  I did winner azuma to Wakefield 

Closely followed behind by a winner 150 to leeds 

For a dud azuma back to donny 

For train to Mexborough 

Where i ticked spoons 287 - old market hall 

Then train to Sheffield 

Then train to kiveton Bridge 

Then walked along to Kiveton Park Colliery Welfare to take in some cricket and footy

An excellent end to end game with well taken goals ! 

Made way home via Sheffield and donny to finish off another day and an excellent productive rover !  :)
