Durham City FC Reserves 10 v Sunderland Farringdon Detached FC 0 - 19/12/15 - ground #399 - Maiden Castle Sports Centre

Once again, I turned up to find that Durham weren't playing at Uni CC, place was deserted. As the weather hadn't been too bad, I made a couple of phone calls from numbers off NLZ. Turned out the game was being payed at nearby Maiden Castle. I happily made the short walk round as MC was a winner ground too.
The game was mainly 1 sided. Durham were 5-0 up after 30 mins! The scoring continued strait after HT. I had hoped to tick some real ciders off in the city centre, but all the decent pubs that sell it were full of lager swilling revellers, so I decided to give it amiss & get early train home :)

Sunderland Farringdon Detached FC 1 v Sunderland Oddies FC 6 - 19/09/15 - ground #391 - hetton Lyons Industrial Park

I had planned to do west auckland v bowes, but as I'd been to bishop 2wks in a row, I thought a change of scenery was in order & another DACL ground tick. I went to Hetton Lyons CC last month, this ground is only 5 mins or so walk from there :)

only Sunderland Uni, Seaham New Westlea & KIllingworth YPC grounds remain to complete the DACL & all are doable next month!
Next saturday I'm off to Darlo to see Travellers Rest (formally Model T / hole in the wall) v Sunderland Hall Farm in the Durham MInor Cup. Should be a crackin game! :)

Sunderland Hall Farm 5 v Sunderland Farringdon Detached 1 - 15/08/15 - ground #386 - Leyburn Grove Sports Complex

after all the ifs & buts this summer over the planned 'Wearside development league', the end result is the Durham Alliance Combination League. What was left of the Durham Alliance league & those teams from the Wearside Combination league that still wanted to play on a saturday, add a couple of new teams & that was that.
It means that I've been handed 5 new grounds to do - Sunderland Hall Farm, Sunderland Farringdon DFC, Seaham New Westlea & Killingworth YPC. so today,  thats 1 down 3 to go :)

a nice cheap day out, as I only needed a 2 Buzzfare zones ticket from stockton to houghton, only to be used on GNE buses.
1st stop off was Hetton Lyons CC , one of the better NEPL grounds. They bowled out newcastle for 67 within the 1st session! which was nice :)
after that finished early, it was onto leyburn grove, where I saw a bonus cricket game - Houghton CW CC v Burnhopefield, was taking place. So I watched about 1st 20 mins of that before the footy started. everytime there was a break in the footy, my attention turned to the cricket!  (pic below)

after the footy. my final pit-stop was South Hetton CC for their 2nd XI game v Brandon 2nd XI.
overall, a fantastic day out of footy & cricket :)
