Little & Long Benton Double ! Grounds 478 & 479

mags u18s 3 v SAFC U18s 3 - Little benton - 09/11/24  -  Ground 478

Started off at Sol metro station and headed northbound for a change!  After ticking off the sainsburys at west Jesmond and forest Hall, I headed down to Little benton, for the U18s game. 

mags u18s were 3-1 up at HT , I even got a rainbow pic ! 

The 2nd half belonged to Sunderland,  who scored the goal of the game with their 2nd, , a headed goal from a corner grabbed the equalizer,  in a crackin game which could've went either way!

I then hobbled up the coach lane to my 2nd game of the day. 

There was also a game on the other pitch , university  A  v heaton stannington A ,  which I saw the home team score! 

Unfortunately the swirling wind and pissing rain ain't ideal conditions for a COPD sufferer,  add my knackered  back into the mix, and it ain't good. I tried sitting down for awhile undercover,  had 2 strong painkillers and a blast on my inhaler,  but I was flagging dreadfully! So.an early exit was required,  I could barely walk by time I got home. 

AFC Newbiggin 2 v Whitley Bay A 2 - 08/10/16 - ground #424 - Newbiggin Sports & Community Centre

another long bus trek to a nfa game, took me to the seaside! I got to newbiggin with plenty time to have a brisk walk along the promenade to get some air in me lungs after the dreadful bus journey!

the 1st 45 was a scrappy 0-0 , then the 2nd 45 saw the goals arrive! I'd planned a quick route back to regents centre, but the 35a decided to take a different route than what was timetabled , so I was lumbered with the boring slog on the X21 back to regent centre, which included a drunk who nearly fell backwards before boarding at bedlington, then proceeded to finish off his fish & chips, then made a rolly & sparked it up (all this was downstairs) a few minutes before getting off! not a word from the driver. last Saturday I was upstairs on the X18 to red row, and a lad knocked back 4 cans of fosters by the time I got off! have arriva express busses turned back the years when you could do what you wanted on busses?? I admit, I love a few cans on train journeys, but long bus journeys are hard enough for me to stomach, without the stench of lager, chippy food & cigarettes !!

Killingworth Town 1 v AFC Newbiggin 2 - 08/08/15 - ground #384 - West Moor Community Centre

I did plan to do Killingworth YPC v Sunderland Hall Farm, but that game was reversed to SHF ground, so I decided to do this game instead. The X10 I was on broke down on the A19 near Seaham, so we had to wait nearly 30 mins for the X9 to pull onto the hard shoulder so we coud transer onto it.
After that farce, I still got to South North CC to see most of the 1st session before the footy :)
