another lovely scenic ground in this league, abit of a trek on the buses tho (all arriva so an arriva day ticket was only required) ! Weather was sunny until I stepped off the bus at Crook to a shower of hail ! not long after the match kicked off, sunshine vanished then came snow & bitter winds!!
The game was a tough close game, Crook sealed the win with 2 late goals, but the score could've been alot higher for both teams.
so, just the 3 C&D league grounds required now - Wolsingham, Wearhead & Alston :)

Stanhope Town 3 v Crook Town Wanderers 2 - 09/04/16 - ground #407 - Bondisle Playing Field

abit of an early start for this one, mainly due to the infrequencies of the trains & buses (and connections!).
did the 10.28 from Thornaby - bishop, which gave me around 40 mins to wander around til the 12.00 bus to Stanhope, which took 45 mins. after a short walk around, I made my way to the ground for the 1.30 k.o, which is behind Stanhope railway station on the heritage Weardale line. 
it was a gorgeous day & the footy didn't disappoint either. Stanhope led 2-0 at HT, but Crook started the 2nd half with a rocket up thier arse & pulled it back level, but the home team won it. a brilliant game full of crackin goals & bad misses!! I left abit early so to catch the 3.00 bus back to bishop, to catch the 16.23 train back to Thornaby, which got me home about 2hrs earlier :)
