Arrived in Slough Friday, made way to B&B only to find out it'd been sold off a few weeks earlier, refund pending. Thankfully a friend in Sunderland came through for me and booked me up at travelodge. By the time I checked in , I was shattered and in no state to go anywhere else!
Saturday morning I felt a lot better, headed out early doors, to Twyford where I did the Henley-on-Thames branch and ticked spoons 230 - Catherine Wheel. :)
Then made way on train to reading changing at Twyford, first up spoons 231 - hope tap :)
Then stopped off at O' Neil's in town for a pint and much required rest !
Nicely rested, I went to the station for the F1 shuttle bus to the ground.
Was an even first half with chances at both ends. HT 0-0 , Barnsley came out the traps quickly in 2nd half and raced into a 2 goal lead. Reading gave themselves a chance at 2-1 but Barnsley stretched their lead to 4-1. Reading dragged it back to 4-2 in stoppage time, but it wasn't to be.
I left at 3-1, as did a few thousand others. to catch the first shuttle bus back to the station and caught the 17.13 back to Slough and rested with a vodka or 10 ready for Sundays bash !
