the plan was to tick off 2 Blyth grounds, the main one being the game between blyth town v Stockton Town - arrived at cram about 12.30, walked thru the new shopping centre stoppin off at asda for some worcester sauce crisps (2 packs of 6 for £2) , then got bus into blyth with plenty of time to walk & find the ground. I stopped a dog walker to ask where cowpen park was when I was nearby, blank faced he looked at me, then I said, where blyth fc play ... face still blank I said football ... bingo!! he then pointed me towards where there were footy pitches. the pitches were basically on a patch of grass between houses ( but they all count). opposite the pitches was a community centre, where I watched most of the 1st half from due to a ticky tummy! about HT, 2 quick bus connections (well should've been) got me to blyth towns ground just after 3, but the place was deserted! people were still arriving, we were told by wifey in the bar that ref called game off due to water logged pitch. I fancied a pint , but me been not 1 to wait about, I took a brisk walk along the road & caught the X10 into cram with enough time to get some cans in & get to the station in time for the 15.57 back to central station to catch the 16.30 back to stockton :)
